Carlos and his wife, Sulema, make blouses, pants, dresses, skirts, and scarves out of a workshop in their home. The material they work with is 100% cotton that is hand-dyed and embroidered. All designs are created by the two of them. They have two children together: Saye was born in 1999 and Apawky was born in 2010.
